PIZZA NOVA RAISES $65,500 IN SUPPORT OF CANCER RESEARCH

TORONTO, June 8, 2022 - Pizza Nova presented a cheque for $65,500 to University Health Network, remitted this week to Dr. Neil Fleshner representing the McCain GU BioBank Unit. This unit supports critical research efforts in understanding new ways to diagnose and manage urological disease (in particular cancer). The donation took place at Station Creek Golf Club and Le Parc Dining & Banquet Hall in the context of the company's 25th annual golf fundraiser, generously sponsored by long-time Pizza Nova partners and attended by more than 250 guests who participated in the day's events.

"We're surrounded by a lot of love," said Domenic Primucci, president of Pizza Nova. "And every year our annual golf fundraiser demonstrates that - rain or shine - we continue to smile and support worthy causes that are near and dear to our hearts. We're extremely grateful to our values partners for their generosity."

Pizza Nova organized its first golf fundraiser in 1994 and, since then, has raised more than $850,000 for a variety of worthy causes.

"We just completed our 'That's Amore Pizza for Kids' fundraiser event and to finally come together for our charity golf tournament to do even more for our communities is a true joy," said Sam Primucci, who founded Pizza Nova in 1963. "Our growth has also given us the opportunity to increase our charitable initiatives. It's something that makes us very proud."

The last Pizza Nova golf fundraiser was held in 2019.
